BBCi Interactive Promos

BBCi Interactive Promos

Brief : A set of promotional trails to advertise BBCi's Digital interactive TV services (also known as 'Press Red' services) and BBCi Online Web-based Services

Overview : Scripts were developed to explain the simplicity of the BBCi Digitial TV services - accessed by 'Pressing Red' - and also promote some of the lesser known features and benefits of BBCi Website to the general BBC audience - BBCi New services, the BBCi digital online radio player, and BBCi online learning services.

Narrative scripts were developed to highlight the ease and simplicty of access to these services. The style and tone was directed towards the strapline developed for the BBCi awareness campaign - "BBCi: The BBC at Your Beck and Call" highlighting the 'on-demand' nature of the BBCi services.

Results : The end promos were shown on junction spaces on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Three as well as delivered over the web and in Interactive TV loops. The 'Control Freak - Press Red' trails were delivered as part of the 'Jensen Button' campaign which focused on BBCi digital TV services, whereas the online BBCi promos were part of a generic BBCi Web Services awareness campaign.

BBCi has since been split into the Online Web-based Services (now bbc.co.uk) and the interactive TV services (BBCi). The themes of ease, simplicity and user-based on-demand services would be later incorporated into the development of the BBC i-Player - from both a product development, through to the overall brand messaging.
